About Lidalia Caravan Park

Lidalia Caravan Park in the Scottish Borders

Eddie and Isobel Rutherford opened Lidalia Caravan Park in spring 1989. The park was part of the Waverley Railway line in the past.
Lidalia started off with 13 grass pitches and from the start was affiliated to then the ‘Caravan Club’. Gradually the park pitches were increased to 30 pitches as Lidalia became more popular and busier. Then when the park was opening all year round, all pitches were progressed into hard standings. Also in the years the Ladies and Gents toilet block was refurbished into privacy cubicles and with heating over the winter.
We have 2 ponds on the site with 2 white ducks going from pond to pond, they must be near 10 years old now.

A Family Run Business

It is a family run business with daughters Gillian and Shona helping as the years went by.
On the 1st January 2020 Eddie decided to retire with a limited work schedule and has given daughters Gillian and Shona full reins to run the business.

As from August 2024 site is now owned by Shona and her husband Mick
Being an all year round site and taking in Caravan and motorhome club members and non members as proved to be a successful enterprise.
